COVID-19 Policy – Updated October 2021

How has your studio handled the COVID-19 pandemic?

My studio closed to all in-person lessons from March 2020 through early Summer in 2021 for the safety of my students, myself and our families. My household was fully vaccinated in Spring 2021, and I resumed in-studio lessons in July with the necessary precautionary measures. As is the case for most small businesses, these have been truly challenging times and I am grateful to be able to see my students again.

What COVID-19 precautions are you currently taking?

All students deserve access to great education, and I am doing everything I can to safely provide quality music lessons during the pandemic. To keep up with current safety measures, my household got our booster vaccines in October 2021. Per updated recommendations of the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Idaho Central District Health, and Boise School District , all students, parents, and guests over the age of 3 wear are required to wear masks inside the Old Boise Music Studios common areas, as well as in my private studio, regardless of vaccination status.

Instruments and desk surfaces in my personal office are sanitized between students, and everyone entering Old Boise Music Studios must use hand sanitizer, which is available in the waiting area. All students are required to follow the Boise School District Guidelines for Staying Home If Ill and the Idaho CDH Illness Decision Tree for Schools. Students with cold symptoms are not permitted in the studio, and remote lessons or makeup assignment activities will be given in place of meeting in person. Parents are encouraged to teach their kids appropriate safety precautions including regular hand washing and covering their mouths with an arm or tissue when coughing or sneezing.

Please contact me ASAP for alternative lesson options if any of the following is true for you, your student, or anyone in your household:

  • Within 14 days of your scheduled lesson, you have tested positive, or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Within 48 hours of your scheduled lesson, you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Within 14 days of your scheduled lesson, you have traveled to any international territory identified by federal or applicable state or local governments as being subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19.
